This creamy Whipped Goat Cheese makes a delightful spread for crackers, salads, and sandwich bread. This flavorful combination of tangy goat cheese, rosemary, and just a touch of honey is the perfect addition to your charcuterie board this holiday season, game day or any time you’re entertaining!
I wasn’t always a fan of goat cheese. I was raised on simple flavors and basic ingredients. Sometimes though, you have to be a little daring and try something you think you’ll hate, which I did when a soft goat cheese spread was served at a party I recently attended.
I was surprised at how delicious it was! Right away, I knew I had to recreate the recipe for you. Whip up a batch of this whipped goat cheese dip and impress the guests at your next get-together!

What Does Goat Cheese Taste Like?
Goat cheese is a soft cheese with a slightly savory, tangy flavor. It has a smooth, creamy texture. It’s important to note that there are several different types of goat cheese, but the one we’re using today is fresh goat cheese, or chevre, a spreadable cheese.
Ingredients for Whipped Rosemary Goat Cheese
Make this easy appetizer with only five simple ingredients:
- 4 ounces of goat cheese
- 1 tablespoon freshly chopped rosemary
- 1 ½ teaspoons of honey
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- A pinch of freshly ground black pepper
You can add more salt and pepper to taste.
How to make Whipped Goat Cheese with Honey
This appetizer recipe couldn’t be easier. Simply combine all the above ingredients in a mixing bowl and beat on medium speed with a hand mixer for 2-3 minutes. Transfer it to a shallow bowl or serving dish, then cover and refrigerate it until you’re ready to serve!
Tips for Making the Best Goat Cheese Dip
- Use fresh, high-quality ingredients for the best flavor.
- Let the goat cheese warm up to semi-room temperature for the best smooth texture.
- Let it whip for several minutes to make sure it’s super creamy.
- You can double the batch for a large gathering.
Can you make Whipped Goat Cheese ahead of time?
Yes, you can make this goat cheese appetizer up to three days in advance. Keep it tightly covered in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Can you use dried rosemary instead of fresh?
I much prefer the flavor of fresh herbs in an appetizer like this. However, if you’re in a pinch and only have dried rosemary, you can substitute 1 teaspoon of dried herbs instead of fresh rosemary.
What to serve with this delicious Goat Cheese Dip
- Fresh veggies, such as celery, cauliflower, radishes, carrots, bell peppers, and more
- Your favorite crackers
- Crostini or crusty bread
- Pita Chips
- Fresh fruit like apples, pears, and strawberries
- Pretzels
Recipe Variations
If you want to experiment a little with flavors, you can add in one or more of the following ingredients:
- Bacon adds a salty crunchiness to the dip.
- Add a drizzle of olive oil over the top.
- Substitute hot honey for regular honey.
- Mix in some red pepper flakes for a little spice.
- Sprinkle crushed nuts on top, such as pine nuts or walnuts.
- Dried cranberries pair so well with goat cheese and offer a bit of holiday color!
- Chives also pair nicely with goat cheese and add some color.
